A growing number of baby boomers are re-thinking the traditional sea or tree change, choosing to downsize to city apartments close to family and established networks instead.
Among those trading coastal life for higher density living is Liz and Ian Ramsay, who made the decision to move back to Sydney after 18 months of pursuing the 'Terrigal Dream'.
"The view was amazing, but you can't sit 24/7 looking at a view. I realised how much I like Sydney," Liz told the Daily Telegraph.
After searching for the right home, the Ramsay's found their answer at Highforest, securing a spacious three-bedroom apartment a week after the arrival of their son's first child.
For Liz, family connection is everything. She enjoys supporting her children and being an active part of her grandchildren's lives often having "them for sleepovers and a day or two in the holidays."
